Responding to PM Ranil Wickremesinghe’s remark Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa stated that he was not a back stabber trying to topple the government in the absence of Prime Minister.
“I do not need to wait till Wickremesinghe leaves the country to effect a regime change. It is my plan to do so while he is in Sri Lanka,” former President said.
“Everybody has now realised the grievous mistake they committed by helping the UNP capture power,” he added.
On Monday the PM that he was going to Switzerland later this month and the former President could make use of his absence to try to topple his government.
