Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva said that the May day rally of the SLFP held at the Samanala Ground, Galle had become an reagent to ensure the opinion that the SLFP should move forward as a powerful party without any disagreements.
As SLFP ers their prime aim to unite the party, he said. “We should not do anything to divide the party or work towards its disintegration . We have to take prudent decisions to ensure that the party is kept intact,” he added.
“Having cold wars within political parties is a common feature in politics. But the members of the SLFP should be united as one group for the victory of the UPFA headed by the SLFP at the next election, by safeguarding the identity of the party,” he said.
And further the Minister said that the SLFPers who hold ministerial positions in the present government are ready to give up their positions if the Central Committee of the party decides on such a course.
“The decision to join the government is not an individual decision. It was a decision of the Central Committee of the party endorsed by a Working Committee and the Samastha Lanka Karaka Sabha,” he added.
